History
A Heart Rooted In Colombian Soil
When people think of poverty, Colombia isn't necessarily the first country to come to someone's mind.
However, our founder and Executive Director, Pilar Gomez, had often dreamed of giving back to the beautiful-yet-broken country that gave her life and watched her grow. Despite living in the United States for several years, Pilar would raise awareness about the many issues impoverished Colombian communities faced and would organize grassroot charity initiatives to serve her homeland. Fueled by her faith in Christ, she would pray for the Lord to grant her the opportunity to turn those individual acts of charity into a formal nonprofit organization so she could reach more people throughout her nation.
And in 2019, God answered her prayers.
With the help of several "angels" (as she calls those brothers and sisters in the faith who generously stepped in to support her), Christ Calling Foundation became an official 501 (c) 3 public charity. Since its founding, Christ Calling has impacted thousands of lives in Colombia and abroad by sharing God's love in action.

At Christ Calling Foundation, we seek to honor first and foremost our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that in Jesus Christ, the love, mercy and grace of God are made known to us and all people. Our ministry is founded upon this overflowing abundance of God's love, and our Christian faith is manifested in everything we aim to say and do.
Field-Driven
We believe that the best way to serve others is not to assume their needs, but to listen to what they have to say. Local communities know what works for their people, so we ensure that our programs are driven by REAL needs as expressed by the individuals we are serving. We partner with them to deliver transformational impact tailored to their specific contexts.
Spirit-Led
We don't just share about our Christian faith - we live by it. Every decision, every partnership, every one we serve is prayed for. Is discerned. Is carefully offered to the will of God, so that His Holy Spirit may guide us to do His work on earth. We are not leaders. We are followers of Jesus and where He leads us to work.
